Statement of Boarding Principles

Boarding is a central part of life at Sandroyd. The School and staff involved in boarding provide all the care and support that children might reasonably expect in their home life. This includes matters of personal hygiene, daily requirements of clean clothes and bedding, as well as the provision of emotional and social support. Our boarding is split into four distinct, and private, houses, catering for different age groups and gender. The houses are communities where the compassionate and consistent pastoral support enables pupils to develop as individuals whilst fostering a sense of tolerance and respect. Personal organisation, tidiness, co-operation and consideration are all key to achieving this goal. Our pastoral staff and Houseparents are highly trained and experienced to ensure a boarding environment that is both friendly and caring, allowing our boarders to thrive.
