Food

The food served is a wonderfully unique blend of home cooked family favourites, made with restaurant quality professionalism, with a very firm eye on nutritional balance for growing minds and bodies.

All of the food is planned, sourced and cooked by our highly trained Head Chef and his team. Menus are carefully planned before the beginning of each term and rotate on a monthly basis. Daily menus and ingredients are checked by Sister and a member of the kitchen team, and appropriate changes made for pupils with special dietary requirements.

The day begins with a variety of cereals and yoghurts for breakfast.  There is a fruit cart, which pupils can pick from whenever they want. Lunch is a set menu with family service where all pupils and staff sit together and serve each other at the table.  Whilst School Tea offers a wide choice of options - including a salad bar with 20 different choices each evening! Desserts and puddings are also an all important occasional lunchtime treat. Nothing evokes more memories than ‘school puddings’ – with classics such as sticky toffee pudding and rice pudding.

All the food is made on the premises, which means we can keep a close eye on salt and sugar intake, and pride ourselves on the fact that our food is hydrogenated fat free.

Our meat is provided by a renowned local butcher, J. Mato & Son; fish is delivered from a local company; all our eggs are free range from a local supplier, Roy Jeans; and fresh fruit and vegetables are delivered to the school each day.
