Science

Science education is about developing a knowledge and understanding of our environment. Exploring, investigating and discovering are activities which help children to gather the experiences they need to understand the world around them.

It is important for children to learn that not every experiment or investigation results in the ‘right’ answer. The purpose of gaining this understanding is to enable pupils to take responsibility for their role in the maintenance of a healthy lifestyle and the creation of a safe environment; not only for themselves but for all those around them – other humans, animals and plant life.
