Religious Studies
Through our Religious Studies curriculum, pupils in Years 3, 4 and 5 explore six major world religions: Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and Sikhism.
Pupils are encouraged to ask questions and share their own ideas and thoughts, developing their skills in a number of areas: factual knowledge, making comparisons and identifying connections, empathy and compassion for others, applying concepts to their own lives, and reflective and critical thinking.
Our pupils engage in a wide range of activities that enable them to reflect on ideas such as worship, community, diversity, symbolism, commitment, sense of belonging, meaning, purpose, truth, values, and morality.
Our Religious Studies framework reflects Sandroyd’s ethos of kindness and respect for others.
