Year 4 Trip to Nothe Fort

Year 4, beautifully dressed as evacuees, spent the day in Weymouth at Nothe Fort. They experienced different aspects of 1940s life, using a pen and an ink well in the school room and a mangle in the laundry. In the shop they marvelled at the limits of rationing and they explored old money. They huddled in an Andersen shelter complete with authentic nearby explosions and learnt to use a stirrup pump. It was a fabulous day out!
