Friends of Sandroyd

The Friends of Sandroyd Committee brings together parents and school staff to organise social events throughout the year for the benefit of the Sandroyd children and families. The Friends of Sandroyd Annual Events

Some popular events organised by The Friends throughout the year include:

  • September – Parents’ Coffee: a coffee morning ahead of exeat pick up for new parents to meet others and current parents to catch up after the holidays.
  • November – The Christmas Fair: held in the Harris Hall, a wonderfully festive event with popular and varied stalls.
  • January – Burns Night Scottish Reeling Evening: in the dining room. Designed to be a fun, relaxed evening to jazz up January. Practice sessions can be organised up at school in the weeks preceding so that parents can learn the reels or revise them.
  • March – Parents’ Quiz Night: a fun & relaxed BYO evening in the school dining room where pre-arranged teams attempt to tackle an eclectic mix of challenges and quiz questions.
  • May – The Summer Fête: a real highlight with stalls run by the children including inflatable obstacle courses, crazy golf, splat the rat, second-hand children's clothes, books, an ice cream van, and the highly competitive dog agility.
  • May – A Summer Social: early evening drinks and nibbles at the Pavilion in conjunction with a Sandpipers' cricket match.

How can I be involved?

If you would like to be involved in the Friends of Sandroyd then we would love to hear from you, please do get in touch via Alice Speers.

The Friends really value the support of the Sandroyd staff and parents whose time, effort, and donations have helped raise funds for good causes including Julia’s House; Afghanaid; Encircles; Stand for Trees; School in a Bag.

The Sandpipers Cricket Team

The Sandpipers cricket team is made up of Sandroyd parents and staff, past and present, who meet for informal fixtures on a Tuesday evening throughout the summer term. We would love to hear from any parents who would be interested in joining for a fun game of cricket and a chance to socialise. Other halves most welcome too!
