The health and well-being of all our children are at the heart of Sandroyd’s pastoral provision and is led by Mrs Roselle Dugdale, one of a team of three Registered General Nurses. We also have a medical matron who supports the sisters in their role and provides cover overnight.
Our well-resourced Surgery is a 24-hour facility. Our nursing team, known as Sisters, look after the day to day welfare and health of the children. The surgery is run by Mrs Dugdale and overseen by the school doctor who visits Sandroyd once a week for appointments with boarders.
Boarders who are unwell are looked after in Sick Bay which is located next to the Surgery and adjacent to the sisters’ accommodation. Boarders also have access to a local dentist and optician if required.
In order to promote the best mental health of our children, we also have a qualified School Counsellor to whom children can be referred to as well as a school listener. A number of our pastoral team are also qualified in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)
