Playsongs is coming to join our toddler group at The Walled Garden. This is a fun music session for children aged birth – 4 years old. Some of the activities include:
• Fun action songs and rhymes about the things babies and toddlers love to do!
• Simple percussion instruments for little hands, including tapping sticks, wood blocks, cymbals, triangles and the much loved lollipop drum
• Songs celebrating the seasons of the year
• Beautiful lullabies
The class will be on a Wednesday 2.00 pm to 2.45 pm in our purpose built Pre-Prep department. After the class please stay for a healthy snack and free play until 3.30 pm. Each session costs £5.00 (10 sessions in total) and there are 12 places available in the class.

The sessions will start on 25th April and will be weekly with the last session being on Wednesday 4th July. Please note there will be no session on 6th June.

If you can help us please drop your vouchers into The Walled Garden where we have two collection boxes or into the Sandroyd Office. UPDATE Tescos will stop issuing the vouchers on 20th May - please let us have any vouchers by the end of the month. Sainsbury's 'Active Kids' promotion has now finished but vouchers can still be used up to the end of this month. Many thanks for your support! --------------------------
Circle and Golden Time At The Walled Garden we have circle time meetings every week where the children talk about issues which specifically concern them and learn the importance of sharing and taking turns. We also follow the six ‘Golden Rules’ set out below. The six ‘Golden Rules’ are Do be gentle - Do not hurt anybody Do be kind and helpful - Do not hurt people’s feelings Do work hard - Do not waste your or other people’s time Do look after property - Do not waste or damage things Do listen to people - Do not interrupt Do be honest - Do not cover up the truth If the children keep to the ‘Golden Rules’ during the week, they are entitled to their ‘Golden Time’ on a Friday afternoon, when they can choose from a range of activities such as free play, extra computing or more time on outside play. If a golden rule is broken, a child misses some of this time. The system is designed to give the responsibility for behaving to the children themselves, so that it becomes second nature to keep to the rules. Parents and Toddler Group The Parent and Toddler group is held every Wednesday afternoon from 2.00 to 3.30pm. Mothers, fathers, nannies or friends can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee whilst their toddlers learn to play together in a safe environment. All are welcome to drop in with their children and there is always a friendly welcome and chance to relax. Please contact us on 01725 553208 if you would like further details. ‘Watertots’ classes with Miss Peat take place every Friday morning in our indoor swimming pool. These sessions are a fantastic way of encouraging very young children to become familiar with the water and to learn to swim in a safe and calm environment.
