Congratulations to our chef, Robert Doble, who with Catherine Harris has been judged as the winner of the Taste of the West awards in the category of 'Local Food in Schools' Robert (3rd from right) with Catherine (2nd from right) This is what the judges had to say: We felt that a huge amount of work had been undertaken to achieve the level of success evident at Sandroyd. Everyone involved at the school showed a real commitment to ensuring that their pupils received nutritionally balanced meals. The introduction of food topics and sustainability in many of the curriculum subjects was welcomed. The well-structured 'whole school' approach will ensure that the generation of tomorrow has a clear understanding of the importance of food. It is clear that the school has developed a thorough local sourcing policy and is very proud of its achievements.
