The Sandroydian is an annual school magazine, published and distributed at some time in the Autumn Term. The magazine contains an editorial by the Headmaster, reports by staff and pupils of the many activities, outings and special events which have taken place in the course of the year and full sports results. In addition there is a section reserved for some of the pupils' creative work - art, stories and poetry. The magazine is filled with photographs showing all aspects of life at this busy school. -------------------- The following is taken from the very first Sandroydian Magazine published in December 1898 when Sandroyd was based in Surrey "No apology is needed for the first number of our school paper. Its object is so modest, its form so unpretentious, that it must disarm any adverse criticism. In its pages we hope to set forth the doings of Sandroyd boys in the class-room and on the field; and in other ways to give a small idea of school life in our pretty Surrey surroundings; also to keep present Sandroyd boys in touch with old boys who have left us for the public schools or the Navy. The SANDROYDIAN will show old friends that present Sandroyd identifies itself with their successes and will strive to emulate them, while, by recording our own successes and failures we shall not allow them to fall into oblivion." ------------------------ The Sandroydian is available to download from here in Portable Document Format (.PDF). -------------------------
